PUERTO PORTALS 52 SUPER SERIES SAILING WEEK 2025

Every summer, Puerto Portals in Mallorca transforms into a sailing theater of dreams. The luxurious marina, famed for its elegance and yachts worth a fortune, becomes the stage for sporting thrills during the PUERTO PORTALS 52 SUPER SERIES SAILING WEEK. And this year’s edition (2025) will go down in history – and not just because of the stunning weather.
American Magic Quantum Racing Back on the Podium – and on the Very Top
After the circuit’s return to the Mediterranean following two Atlantic regattas, the American team American Magic Quantum Racing once again proved its dominance. Doug DeVos and his crew clinched victory in Puerto Portals, securing their third consecutive title after previous triumphs in Baiona, Spain, and at the TP52 World Championship in Cascais.
Their performance on the Bay of Palma was spectacular – winning three out of four races in the second half of the event, and in the classic sea breeze conditions (10–12 knots) they sealed the deal, finishing 12 points clear of their rivals.
Final Standings – Puerto Portals 2025:
American Magic Quantum Racing (USA) – 38 points
Sled (USA) – 50 points
Alpha+ (HKG) – 54 points (first-ever podium for the team!)
Takashi Okura’s Sled maintained strong form with a third podium of the season, while Alpha+ proved that a mix of youth and experience can be explosive. For the Hong Kong team, this was their first podium finish in the 52 SUPER SERIES – a huge achievement in such a competitive and demanding fleet.
Drama and Comebacks – Thrills on the Water
The regatta wasn’t without its drama: Germany’s Platoon Aviation dropped out of contention after a collision and a double penalty, but staged a comeback by winning the final race. Britain’s Alegre had a tough run, while Italy’s Alkedo Vitamina took home the top owner-driver award.
As American Magic tactician Terry Hutchinson summed it up:
“The win feels great, but there’s still plenty to improve. Our starts weren’t perfect, but after that we sailed really well. We’ll be back for more in Porto Cervo.”

The 52 SUPER SERIES season concludes in Porto Cervo, Sardinia (September 22–27). American Magic Quantum Racing is on course to defend their title from last year, but the competition isn’t giving up. After four of five regattas, they lead with 131 points, ahead of Sled (172 points) and Alkedo (197 points).
